“Drive Lines personnel, their partners and friends took an excursion to Paris this weekend to celebrate the achievements of the past year. A considerable milestone had been reached and an extra-ordinary commemoration was in order.
Setting off from St Pancras International we were whisked to Paris by Eurostar in an instant. Our accommodation at Hotel Gare du Nord was superbly positioned to access the excellent local public transport; both Metro and tour buses at the door. Off we went about our separate plans to see this lovely city. The Seine, Sacre Ceour, Notre Dame, Opera, Madelain, Museums and Galleries, the shops etc until we all came together for a superb meal in excellent company at Restaurant Marriette in the Rue Bosquet. Then a final treat to see the Eiffel Tower lightshow and ‘home’ to bed. Saturday’s weather was quite superb.
Sunday dawned dull but warm and the touristic element continued. Hard on the feet but great for the cultural side of our collective natures. Heavy rain in the afternoon failed to dampen our spirits.
At 17 00 we collected back at Gare du Nord for the homeward journey. At fleeting glimpse of Paris behind us, lovely memories to dwell on and a great feeling of camaraderie to savour.”
