On 31st July 2025 we say farewell to Ian Carr, who has been with Drive Lines for 17 years, as he departs to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
Ian joined Drive Lines in 2008 as an Internal Sales Engineer and later took over from Bob Clark, the company’s founder, as Managing Director in 2015.
Over the years, there were many highlights, including company trips to Paris, record sales years and establishing new supplier partnerships, as well as challenging times during the recession.
With Drive Lines joining the RARUK Holdings group to safeguard the future of the business and its employees, Ian was able to semi-retire last year – continuing to work two days a week to support Drive Lines through this transition period and handing over responsibilities to Matt Jones, our Sales Director.
Ian has played a significant role in Drive Lines’ story and leaves behind a legacy of wisdom and fairness. Now, it is time for Ian to fully retire and embark on new adventures, as well as some well-deserved relaxation.
Please join us in celebrating Ian’s 17 years of service to Drive Lines, filled with hard work and dedication to driving the business forward.
Please see a statement from Ian below:
Thursday 31st July 2025 will be my last working day as I enter full retirement. As many of you may know, I semi-retired last year after the acquisition of Drive Lines by RARUK Holdings Ltd. My aim was to oversee the transition and to help strengthen the foundations of a long and successful partnership with our customers and suppliers.
Today, Drive Lines continues to thrive under the new ownership, with new staff and many exciting customer projects. Therefore, I feel the time is right to say goodbye.
I would like to thank all of my colleagues, customers and suppliers that I have had the pleasure of working with over my seventeen years at Drive Lines. You have all combined to make my tenure most enjoyable and I will miss you.
However, the door is not closed completely. I will be on a retainer in case I can be of help with any past customers or projects so you may still hear from me at some point.
All the best for the future.
Ian
